Tribute to Jonnie Boer

It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Jonnie Boer.

A visionary chef and iconic figure in Dutch gastronomy, Jonnie Boer was the only Michelin three-star chef in the Netherlands, at the helm of the legendary De Librije restaurant in Zwolle, which he ran with his wife Thérèse. Together, they created much more than a restaurant: a total experience, where emotion, pleasure and excellence are at the heart of every detail.

As loyal members of Les Grandes Tables du Monde, Jonnie and Thérèse generously embodied the values of our association: passion for the profession, teamwork, high standards and, above all, a deep love and modern vision of hospitality.

Our thoughts are with Thérèse, their children Jimmie and Isabelle, and the entire De Librije team. May this wonderful establishment continue to uphold the legacy of an exceptional man, who was a chef, father, husband and mentor.
