Tribute to Aimo Moroni

A master of Italian cuisine has passed away

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Aimo Moroni’s passing, which occurred last night.
A true pioneer of contemporary Italian cuisine, Aimo dedicated his life to celebrating the beauty and honesty of the product in a constant dialogue between tradition, territory, and modernity.

Together with his wife, Nadia, he created Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia, a Milanese institution recognized worldwide — a place of soul and identity, where Italian cuisine expresses itself with sincerity and refinement.
Beyond his dishes, Aimo embodied an ethics of taste, a sense of precision, respect, and authenticity that profoundly inspired generations of chefs, producers, and gastronomes.

For several years now, his legacy has been in the hands of Stefania Moroni, Alessandro Negrini, and Fabio Pisani, who have faithfully and brilliantly carried forward the vision he created.
Together, they continue to bring his spirit to life, to enrich this unique culinary heritage, and to transmit this demanding yet luminous idea of Italian gastronomy.

His passing leaves a great void, but also an immense legacy — that of a deeply rooted, human, and visionary cuisine, which will continue to shine far beyond Milan.

Les Grandes Tables du Monde extend their heartfelt condolences to his family, his loved ones, and the entire team of Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia.
Today, we pay tribute not only to a great chef, but to a man of values and heart — one whose mark will forever remain in the history of world gastronomy.
